Police and their apathy for traffic-rules
I see it all the time in Hollywood movies. At an intersection, a cop car will use its siren and go past a red light just so that the cop needn't wait for that extra 30 seconds at the light. Well we don't have too many of those around, but something that is just as callous is a cop turning a blind eye to people who run the red light. I see this happening pretty much everyday at the signal on Venkatnarayana Road (the signal at JYM kalyana mandapam). The light turns red, but there are moron drivers who continue to speed past it. The policeman stands there watching them and not once have I seen an attempt to stop the offender. There are two problems here - 1) the moron motorist who thinks he/she is the only one who has to get home (and yes I've seen an equal number of male and female drivers run the red light) and 2) the police guy who is talking to some friend of his without even bothering to write down the regn. number of the car. While the rest of us who have the green signal are left honking our brains out and filling the air with expletives at both the motorist and the cop!
Just make an attempt no??? Catch these guys once and fine them - a LOT - 500 rupees say!!! Don't let the morons get away with it.

Hi! this is Narasimham and Ramanarasu Jammi welcoming all you Madras lovers to a blog that will help you express your views on what's wrong with this wonderful city and how you think it can be improved. We want this blog to be more about action than just mere words. This is just an intro post and we hope this blog and its ideas grows into something that we could act upon. Perhaps like-minded people who love this fair city like we do could meet and actually change things. We are tired, tired, tired of people who just talk and don't do anything.
ciao
